Ecotourism in Balikpapan Bay

Tourism in tropical areas represents the fastest-growing branch of tertiary sector. The Balikpapan Bay (Eastern Kalimantan, Indonesia) is partly covered by mangroves and remains of primeval tropical forest that are extraordinary for their unique biodiversity. To avoid over-exploitation of described destination, detailed analysis of the evolving tourism and implementation of its sustainable form - ecotourism is necessary. The submitted project builds on one of the latest topics of longitudinal research running by Stanislav Lhota, PhD. in this area. Supervisor of this thesis, Radek Trnka, PhD. also joined the research in its beginning in 2005. Description and evaluation of current condition of ecotourism in Balikpapan Bay area is the main goal of the diploma thesis. Therefore, activities of organizations acting on natural tourism field, and which are connected with ecotourism, were analyzed in depth. The semi-annual field research was done in the area of Balikpapan Bay, while a combination of several qualitative techniques, especially participant and non- participant observation and semi-structured interviews as well as document analysis marginally, was used for data collection. Perception of Attractiveness of Poland as a Tourism Space by Population of Czechia

The doctoral thesis is devoted to analyzing the perception of attractiveness of Poland as a tourism space from the perspective of Czech citizens in a broader context of mutual Czech -Polish relations in tourism. The thesis is primarily based on theoretical concepts of geography of tourism and at the same time it also follows other geographical and scientific disciplines. The methodological framework of the thesis benefits from the openness and multi-disciplinary nature of tourism. Part of the thesis was created using traditional methods and techniques applied in geography, among others: questionnaire research among students, structured interviews with employees of travel agencies, semi-structured interviews with representatives of the Polish governmental institutions, and analyses of the Internet and printed sources. Additionally, there were utilized methods and techniques used more frequently in other disciplines, including: Delphi method, SWOT analysis, mystery shopping, analysis of travelogues, Internet sources of information about Poland, and content of textbooks. The Atlas of Tourism in South Bohemia

The target of this bachelor thesis is to show various possibilities of using geographical information systems for cartography outputs in tourism. The thesis is aimed at drawing up several thematic maps into an atlas of tourism in the South Bohemian region. The thesis begins with a brief characterizing of concepts, such as tourism, cartography, thematic cartography and geographic information systems. The principal part of the bachelor thesis includes collecting and preparing spatial data as a basis for creation of the final atlas of tourism in ArcGIS. The atlas contains commented thematic maps in the area of South Bohemian region. The maps refer to several statistical data of tourism, to chosen natural, cultural and historical tourism attractions, then particular maps illustrate chosen aspects of infrastructure (especially accommodation capacities, tourist information centres, transport facilities). It's possible to use the outcome of this bachelor thesis as a basis for other thesis, as a basis for education or as an inspiration source for tourists.
THE EVALUATION OF PRAGUE´S SIGNAL FESTIVAL´S IMPACT ON THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE TOURISM REGION

This thesis focuses on evaluation of Prague's Signal festival, organized in 2013 and 2015, and it's impact on regional development in Prague and the Czech Republic as a whole, from economic, social and cultural stand point. The theoretical part puts emphasis on explanation of tourism, specifically event tourism, and cultural events. Quantitative data analysis in practical part proves that the festival was successful in bringing in higher number of visitors of the city. The number of visitors throughout the duration of the festival was higher than during comparable time periods and that Signal festival was clearly a decisive factor for visits, which allows us to draw conclusion that the festival supports tourism in the region. Calculations presented in this thesis prove that city council's financial contribution to 2014 Signal festival indirectly contributed to national budget as well as direct economic contributions to regional budgets, due to increased spending by visitors and other economic activity. Empirical examination demonstrates festival's positive impact on region's cultural life, better perception of public spaces by residents and the sustainable development of tourism region.
Marketing projects on enhancing the attractiveness and attendance of Zoo Chleby

Main goal of the bachelor thesis is to outline marketing projects, which could help Zoo Chleby to be more attractive and visited. The theoretical part characterises tourism, specifics of its marketing and management, tourist attractions and event marketing and management. Moreover it focuses on zoological gardens and activities provided by them. The practical part states basic data about Zoo Chleby, its premises, inhabitants and activities. The core of this part lies in the outline of marketing projects, ways of their organization and a guess of possible impacts on the run in zoo.
Development of tourism along Castle Road

This bachelor thesis deals with development of tourism along the Castle Road. First chapter describes main principle of this important international tourist project. Next chapters are focused on basic information about development of the Castle Road, describe member subjects and analyse supply of the services and social functions and attractions, which are offered to visitors of this project. Final chapter evaluates current situation of this project in the Czech Republic and suggests certain measures for further improvement and development of this project.
Transport services in Trhové Sviny region

This diploma work concentrates on carrying out an analysis of transport services in the region of Trhové Sviny. The aim of the work was to carry out an exhaustive evaluation of transport services in administrative district of municipality with extended competence Trhové Sviny on the basis of situational analysis, analysis of transport service and terrain investigation. The emphasis was put above all on the evaluation of transport services usable for tourism and conditions for cycling and hiking. On the basis of the results of the analysis of transport services and terrain investigation, it came to suggesting measures to make the region more attractive. In the work, two hypothesis were set the result of which is based on the made analyses. It resulted from the work that the most common way of transport in the region is road transport, especially by car and by bus. The region is sought for cycling and hiking as well. The main shortcoming of the region is seen in the level of roads which are even dangerous here and there. It could also come to improvement of the level of stops of regular bus service. Another suggestion is to increase connections transporting bicycles by one work day in the season. At the end of the work, a project concentrating on cycle nature trails was created. The project results from the knowledge gained from the foregoing analyses and investigation. This project takes into consideration natural, technical and historical attractions of the region.
Analysis of sports and recreational activities in the "Novohradske mountains" region

Project analyses sports and recreational services of Tourism area of Novohradske mountains and Novohradske foothills and completly characterize potencial of this part Tourism in the location, through some analysis. Concretely is here used situational analysis, STEP analysis, destination demand analysis and analysis of competitive advantage. Than it was estabilished analysis of sports and recreational Tourism services (and the others supplementary services). The point of project was proposition of product portfolio and marketing mix of destination which was coming out of these analasys and field survey (form of questionnaire). It was putting the accent on frame of view on progression and propagation of destination. Through hypotheses were solved classification of sports and recreational Tourism services and traffic or tourist notation seen tourists eyes. At the end was prepared the project of the theme "Cycle nature trail".
